Bilingual menus

POS for Chinese and Asian restaurants

When the front of house reads English and the kitchen reads Chinese, Urdu, Arabic or Thai, every ticket needs both. EvronDesk prints and displays a second name for each item, so nothing gets lost in translation on a busy night.

Short answer

EvronDesk's Chinese and Asian restaurant mode adds a second, native-language name to every menu item. Both names appear on the kitchen display, tickets, receipts and your online menu. It also handles set menus, large takeaway orders and delivery.

Two names, one item

Give each dish its everyday English name and its name in the kitchen's language. Servers order in one, the kitchen reads the other. Receipts can show both, which regulars appreciate and tourists find helpful. The online ordering page shows both too.

Long menus, fast to navigate

Many Asian restaurants have menus with a hundred or more numbered dishes. Give each one its menu number as the SKU and staff can type "47" in the search box instead of scrolling. Categories and subcategories keep the rest tidy.

Set menus and banquets

Set menu A for four people, banquet for ten: build each as a combo with the choices for each course. The kitchen sees every dish, the bill shows the set price, and stock is deducted for everything served.

Takeaway and delivery

Large takeaway orders, phone orders and delivery apps all land on the same kitchen screen. Delivery zones and fees work for your own deliveries, and delivery-app orders arrive through Deliverect, UrbanPiper or a direct connection.

Beyond Chinese

The same bilingual setup suits Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Indian restaurants, and Arabic or Urdu menus in the Gulf and South Asia. See our pages for the UAE, Pakistan and India.
