Tax & e-invoicing

Tax portal and e-invoicing integration

More countries now want restaurant sales reported to the tax authority as they happen. EvronDesk handles Pakistan's FBR and PRA directly, prints ZATCA-format QR codes for Saudi receipts, and can send invoices to other tax portals or e-invoicing providers through a configurable connector.

Short answer

EvronDesk reports sales to Pakistan's FBR and Punjab's PRA directly, generates ZATCA-format QR codes on Saudi receipts, and has a generic JSON connector that can send each invoice to another tax portal or a certified e-invoicing provider. Tax rules change, so always confirm your obligations with a local tax adviser.

Pakistan: FBR and PRA

Restaurants that are required to integrate with the Federal Board of Revenue or the Punjab Revenue Authority can connect EvronDesk in a few minutes. Add your POS ID and token in Settings → Integrations → Tax reporting. Each completed sale is sent to the authority; the returned invoice number and QR code print on the customer's receipt. Failed submissions are listed in the activity log and can be retried.

Other provincial authorities (SRB in Sindh, KPRA and BRA) use their own systems. If they accept invoices over an API, the generic connector can be configured for them. Contact us and we'll check.

Saudi Arabia: ZATCA QR codes

Simplified tax invoices in Saudi Arabia must carry a QR code with the seller's name, VAT registration number, invoice time, total and VAT amount. EvronDesk generates it on the device for every receipt, so it works offline too.

ZATCA's Phase 2 (integration) rolls out in waves by business size, and requires each invoice to be cryptographically stamped and reported to the FATOORA platform by a compliant solution. If your business has been notified for Phase 2, use a ZATCA-certified e-invoicing provider and connect EvronDesk to it with the generic connector.

UAE, India and elsewhere

  • UAE: receipts carry your TRN and VAT breakdown. The UAE's national e-invoicing system is being phased in for businesses from 2026, starting with B2B and B2G. When your accredited service provider is ready, the generic connector can send invoices to it.
  • India: receipts carry your GSTIN and GST by rate. Restaurant B2C sales are generally outside e-invoicing; B2B invoices above the threshold can be passed to your GSP through the connector.
  • UK, US, Canada, Australia, Singapore: sales tax, VAT or GST is reported through your accounting software. Use the journal export for QuickBooks, Xero or Zoho Books.

The generic connector

For any portal or provider with a JSON API, configure:

  • the endpoint URL and the authentication header name and token
  • where in the response to find the invoice number and QR code
  • a label to print on the receipt (for example "Tax invoice no.")

EvronDesk sends each sale in a documented invoice format with seller details, line items, tax by rate, totals and payment method, and prints whatever the provider returns.

Watch out

Tax rules and deadlines change. This page explains what EvronDesk can do; it isn't tax advice. Confirm your obligations with your tax adviser or the authority's official guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Is EvronDesk FBR integrated?

Yes. Enter your FBR POS ID and token in Settings → Integrations → Tax reporting. Each sale is reported, and the FBR invoice number and QR code print on the receipt.

Does EvronDesk support PRA for restaurants in Punjab?

Yes. PRA reporting is set up the same way, with your PRA credentials.

Is EvronDesk ZATCA Phase 2 compliant?

EvronDesk prints the ZATCA-format QR code (seller name, VAT number, time, total and VAT) on simplified tax invoices. Phase 2 integration with ZATCA's FATOORA platform needs cryptographic stamping and clearance through a certified solution, so we connect to your ZATCA-certified e-invoicing provider through our generic connector rather than claiming direct certification.

Can it connect to my country's tax portal?

If your tax portal or e-invoicing provider accepts invoices over a JSON API, the generic connector can send each sale with your own endpoint, authentication header and response mapping. Contact us with the provider's documentation and we'll confirm.
